Reflection by Christel Casse (Lay Pastoral Assistant)
Pentecost Sunday
Peace That Sends Us Forth

Jesus comes among the disciples not with blame or anger, but with peace. “Peace be with you,” he says, before breathing the gift of the Holy Spirit upon them. It is a beautiful reminder that God often meets us in the midst of our worries, doubts, and struggles, bringing comfort and new strength. We too can sometimes live behind “locked doors,” afraid of failure, change, or the pressures of daily life. But the Holy Spirit continues to breathe hope into our hearts, gently calling us to live with courage, forgiveness, and love.

Pentecost invites us to become people who carry Christ’s peace into the lives of others through simple acts of kindness, patience, and understanding. Even in uncertain moments, we are never alone, for the Spirit of God remains with us, guiding and strengthening us each day.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION is available after weekday Mass.

Reflection by Christel Casse (Lay Pastoral Assistant). Held Together in Love In our Gospel, Jesus prays that his followers may remain united in love and close to the Father. It is a gentle reminder that faith is never meant to be lived alone. We all carry struggles, worries, and moments of weakness, yet Christ continues to hold us together through prayer, compassion, and hope.  In a world that can often feel divided or hurried, perhaps we are called to become people who bring peace, patience, and kindness to one another. Sometimes the greatest witness of faith is found in small acts of love, understanding, and encouragement. Even in difficult moments, we are reminded that we belong to God, and we remain held within the care of Christ.

REFLECTION by Christel Casse (Lay Pastoral Assistant) sixth Sunday of Easter. A Home Within Us: Jesus does not promise to visit, or to watch over from a distance. He promises that he and the Father will come and make their home with us. Not a fleeting presence, but a dwelling. The Advocate: the Holy Spirit will be sent in his name, to teach us and remind us of all he has said. We are not left to hold the memory of him alone. And then, quietly: Peace I leave with you. Not the world’s peace, but a peace that holds even in uncertainty, even in grief. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid. An invitation not to feel differently, but to trust more deeply, that even now, we are his dwelling place.

REFLECTION (by Christel Casse Lay Pastoral Assistant)

The Way That Leads Us Home

Fifth Sunday of Easter

In a world full of paths competing for our attention, Jesus speaks with quiet certainty: I am the way, the truth, and the life. Not one way among many, but the way, the living road that leads us home to the Father.

Thomas voices are what so many of us feel. We do not always know where we are going. But Jesus meets the question with tenderness, and with a remarkable answer: you already know the way, because you know me.

To know Jesus, in prayer, in Scripture, in the Eucharist is itself the journey. We do not need everything mapped out but only stay close to the one who is the map.
