News And Information

OUR CAMBODIA LINK: I am delighted that the project we have supported at the Jesus Farm has now been completed. Originally the project was to build two classrooms together with toilets and that is what we raised money for. However, the project was expanded and has become a Pastoral Centre which will greatly advance the mission and outreach of the Church in and around the Jesus Farm. This extended project was supported by the Diocese of East Anglia and some individual donations. A copy of Fr Totet’s report with pictures of the completed project and many of the activities that the church is now operating can be viewed on St Vincent’s website www.stvincentsknutsford.org. A copy of the Report is also available on the notice board (please don’t remove it!).  Thank you once again to all who have donated and helped to bring this project to fruition. We will continue to support Fr Totet and his team’s general work. Fr Totet has asked me to convey his thanks and has remarked on how our support has helped the church’s mission in Cambodia.

Courage, It Is I: A Reflection by Christel Casse (Lay Pastoral Assistant)

Elijah, worn out and afraid, waits at the mouth of the cave. God is not in the wind, nor in the earthquake, nor in the fire, but in the sound of a gentle whisper. Centuries later, on a lake in the darkness, the disciples are battling a storm when Jesus comes towards them across the water: “Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid.”

Peter dares to step out, and for a few paces he walks. Then he notices the wind, fear takes hold, and he begins to sink. Yet the moment he cries out, Jesus reaches out his hand and holds him. Our faith, like Peter’s, is so often a mixture of courage and doubt. What matters is not that we never falter, but that we know whose hand to reach for when we do. So whatever storm we are facing this week, let us not wait until we feel strong enough or sure enough to call Him. He is never further away than a single cry for help, and his hand is already reaching towards ours.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: Saturdays from 11:30am to 12 Noon.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION is available during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and after weekday Mass.

Reflection by Christel Casse (Lay Pastoral Assistant)

Twelve Baskets Left Over

Faced with a hungry crowd, the disciples saw only scarcity: five loaves, two fish, thousands of mouths. “Send them away,” they said. How human that instinct is to measure the need, measure our resources, and decide there isn’t enough.

But Jesus sends no one away. He takes the little that is offered, gives thanks, and shares it and twelve baskets remain.

God does not deal in just enough. He gives until there is more than we can hold. So, whatever you are carrying this week: a tired heart, a small faith, a little love that feels far too stretched, do not be afraid to place it in His hands. He asks only for five loaves and two fish, and He will tend the rest. With God there is always more than enough and always left over.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: Saturdays from 11:30am to 12 Noon.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION is available during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and after weekday Mass.
