PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO ROME AND ASSISI: from 27 April-4 May next year. The cost will be in the region of £1350 which includes flights from Manchester, Accommodation with meals, coach transportation in Rome and Assisi and entrance fees. Full itineraries and booking forms will be available shortly.

CATENIAN PRESIDENT’S SATURDAY: Our Family Fun Afternoon has been rearranged for 1 October from 2pm-5pm at St John’s Church Hall, Church Hill, Knutsford. There is no charge. Food will be available to buy on the day with all proceeds going to the charity, “Just Drop in” (www.justdropin.co.uk). We are working with JustDropin to establish a presence in Knutsford to provide services for young people struggling with their emotional health and well-being. Staff from the charity will be with us on the day.

HEADTEACHER VACANCY: St Nicholas Catholic High School are looking to appoint a new Headteacher (L26-L34) from January 2023. We give thanks to God for the life of dedication and service of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and pray that the Lord will welcome her to Heavenly peace. We pray too for the Royal Family asking the Lord to comfort them at this time of great sadness and we pray for our new King Charles III that the Lord will strengthen and sustain him in the years ahead.

King Charles asked the cardinal to express his sincere thanks to the Catholic Community for all the prayers for his mother, for him and his family. He is truly grateful!

THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THE QUIZ NIGHT on Fridaya great night was had by all. Fr David’s team won! And £238 was raised for Cafod! Thanks to John and Sheila Flynn for organising it.

PARISH QUIZ NIGHT: The Quiz night has now been arranged for Friday, 16 September beginning at 7pm in the Parish Hall. Please bring your own refreshments. There is no cost to come along although there will be a collection to support Cafod.

VISIT OF THE RELICS OF ST BERNADETTE: The Relics of St Bernadette will be in our Diocese at the Cathedral in Shrewsbury from 2.30pm on 13 September and then at St Werburgh’s, Chester from 10am-2.30pm on 14 September. Full details are available on the Diocesan Website www.dioceseofshrewsbury.org . If you would like to book to venerate the relics in Shrewsbury or Chester please visit the national booking site: www.stbernadette.org.uk/registration . Cardinal Nichols writes: “The pilgrimage of St Bernadette’s relics offers us a welcome opportunity to bear active witness to our Faith, joining with one another across our many communities to encounter God’s love and find spiritual, emotional and psychological healing and renewal.”

CATENIAN PRESIDENT’S SATURDAY: As the country is now in mourning John Long has decided to postpone his President’s Saturday this coming week. He will update us once a new date is arranged.
