ASH WEDNESDAY: Lent begins this Wednesday. There will be Mass at 9.30am and 7pm. Ashes will be distributed at both Masses. Ash Wednesday is a day of Fasting and Abstinence. This year Pope Francis has asked us to fast and offer it for peace in Ukraine.

 LOURDES PILGRIMAGE: Brochures and booking forms are now available for our Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes from 29 July-4 August. Overland prices start at £440 and by air at £710. Please visit the Pilgrimage website for full details: www.shrewsburypilgrimage.co.uk

LADIES GROUP COFFEE MORNING and cake sale on Friday, 4 March after 9.30am Mass until 11.30am. All proceeds to Cafod. We welcome your support.

CONFIRMATION. If any young person in Year 8 or above would like to be confirmed this year on 12 May, please collect a Registration Form from the table in the porch or download from the Parish Website. Registration forms must be returned to Fr David by 20 March at the latest.

FIRST FORGIVENESS AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: We are beginning the preparation of those in Year 3. The first meeting for parents will be on Tuesday, 8 March at 7.15pm in the Hall. If there are any children not at St Vincent’s School who wish to receive these sacraments, please speak to Fr David.

WOMENS WORLD DAY OF PRAYER will be held at St Cross Church on Friday, 4 March at 1.30pm.

OFFERINGS TO SUPPORT OUR PARISH: many thanks for your generous offerings each week to our Parish. New offertory envelopes will be available shortly for those who use them. ST VINCENT’S PRE-SCHOOL ADMISSIONS: Any parents who have children who are due to start pre-school before September 2023, please ensure that you have completed an application form and returned it to the pre school to ensure that their name is on the waiting list. Places are filling quickly. FAMILY WALK IN TATTON PARK: The Catenians invite you to join a family walk in Tatton Park next Sunday, 20 February at 12 Noon. All are welcome: families, friends and dogs! We will meet in the church car park. For those unable to join the walk you are welcome to join us for coffee and cake around 1pm in the coffee shop in the Stable Yard.

LOOP SYSTEM: Apologies to those who use the loop system in church which has been producing very distorted sound recently. A sound engineer has visited and a new system will be installed hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

ROTA FOR READERS, MINISTERS AND STEWARDS: In February we will be building the new rota to cover March, April and May, for Eucharistic Ministers, Readers and Church Stewards/Welcomers. GETTING BACK TO NORMAL: Holy water is available in the stoups as you enter church; the Sign of Peace will be reinstated although you may prefer to nod or wave rather than shake hands; the collection baskets will be passed around; whilst face coverings are no longer compulsory we do encourage you to wear them in church to protect yourself and others. A full list of the guidelines is on the Parish Website.

LOURDES YOUTH PILGRIMAGE: Working with our sick and assisted pilgrims has been a life changing experience for so many young people in our diocese. If you are aged between16 & 22 and would be interested in joining our Pilgrimage to Lourdes 28 July-5 August please speak to Fr David. The cost will be £570 which we would hope to offset with some fund raising.

CLERGY WELFARE OFFICER: A vacancy has arisen within the Diocese for a Clergy Welfare Officer to support our priests who are approaching retirement or who have retired.  21 hours a week.
