Father John was ordained at Shrewsbury Cathedral in July 1974.
Although he has not been in the Cheshire area recently, he has served as assistant Priest at St Alban's Macclesfield.
Most recently, he was Parish Priest at St Patrick's Wellington, in Shropshire from 1991 and from there moved to Knutsford in September 2001. He is an avid Manchester United supporter!

Canon Cahill served the Parish for over 20 years, until his retirement in 2001.
Although retired, Canon Cahill still enjoys an active involvement in Parish life, living nearby in the village of Plumley.
Soon after his arrival in Knusford in 1980, he set about plans for the construction of the beautiful Church that we now have.
He is a keen golfer and a devotee of most sports, particularly Rugby when Ireland are playing!
Recently, Fr Cahill returned to live in his native Ireland, and naturally, we hope to see him when he return here to visit.
